Once upon a time, in a lively Indian village surrounded by lush green fields and colorful houses, there lived a donkey named Golu. Golu was known for being a little foolish because he often did silly things without thinking. One hot summer day, Golu saw a shiny, bright object near the village pond and became very curious. 'What is that sparkling thing?' he wondered, his big eyes wide with wonder. Little did he know, this curiosity would lead him on a funny adventure that taught him an important lesson about thinking before acting.
Golu trotted closer to the shiny object, which turned out to be a beautiful, colorful glass bangles that a woman was selling at her stall. Without thinking, Golu tried to pick up the bangles with his mouth, but they slipped and clattered loudly onto the ground, startling everyone. The villagers looked at Golu with amused smiles, and the woman gently scolded him, saying, 'Think before you act, little one.' Golu felt a little embarrassed but also realized he had been foolish. He decided to be more careful and thoughtful from then on.
The next day, Golu saw a group of children flying colorful kites in the sky. Curious again, he wanted to join them. But instead of asking politely, Golu tried to grab a kite string with his teeth. The kite wobbled and almost fell, causing the children to giggle. One kind boy gently explained, 'Golu, it’s better to ask and learn how to do things carefully.' Golu nodded happily, realizing that patience and asking for help are better than rushing into things without thinking.
By evening, Golu sat under a large banyan tree, feeling a little wiser. He remembered all the silly things he had done and the kind words of the villagers. Golu realized that being curious is good, but thinking first makes everything better. From that day, he promised to be more thoughtful and careful, helping others and sharing smiles. The villagers loved Golu even more, for he had learned that wisdom comes from listening and caring.
